Chyle and Kyros decide that Gryn, Griselda and Alexander are companions worth traveling with and they all gather together and leave the city with Eveline, a crazed warrior and ruthless mercenary. They rush through the forest, being assaulted by dryad tree spirits. after defeating their assailants, they move faster, for the tree folk work for the elves and it seems that they are being followed.
Allison, another warrior similar to Eveline finds the party, telling them of Basimick's plans south of the city. He hopes to save his sister, a battle mage who is coming with a small band of soldiers in hopes to assist the city, but she is going to be ambushed by the much larger elven war host. Eveline leaves hoping to find the battle mage, leaving Allison to assist the party.
After a bit more traveling the woods stop and the plains of the north are before them. Allison holds the party, telling them that there is an elven stalker behind them. If they run they may be able to escape a shot that the elf is undoubtedly going to take, but the stalker most likely wont risk the open ground of the plains and they will be safe after a sprint. They burst from the edge of the woods, but a single shot takes root into the back of Chyle. Alexander rushes back to save the unconscious ally. Chyle is still alive, and the Party takes her to a town to the north, a human settlement in the shadow of the mountain city of the Dwarves, their capital of The Iron Hills.
